I am very happy to announce that for the 2012 Free Website Program, the MetroCreate team have decided to not offer only 1 free website, but 2! The response to this years Program was so great resulting in a very hard time for us narrowing down the selections. In years past and most likely in the future, we typically only select one Free Website Project per year, so increasing this for 2 is a big deal for  MetroCreate!

So without further adieu the 2012 Free Website Recipients are:

Joseph M. Smith Community Health Center

The mission of Joseph M. Smith Community Health Center (JMSCHC) is to improve the health and well-being of the communities of Allston, Brighton, Waltham and surrounding areas by providing quality, comprehensive, coordinated care. Since its inception in an apartment within the Charlesview Housing Complex in 1974, JMSCHC has expanded into a full service health center with 5 sites in Allston/Brighton and Waltham. JMSCHC serves over 11,744 patients through 60,835 visits annually and provides clinical and community services in 15 languages, mirroring patient diversity. JMSCHC offers medical, dental, and mental health services, as well as on-site specialties including midwifery, podiatry, endocrinology, and psychiatry. All JMSCHC sites also offer enabling and support services, including managed care referrals, on-site translation, and social service case management to connect patients with housing, transportation, food stamps and child care. JMSCHC is the only full service, freestanding, independent Federally Qualified Health Center in Allston/Brighton and Waltham.

The Vincita Institute

The mission of The Vincita Institute is to provide customized financial education and training regarding critical money-management skills to employees, individuals and families thus enabling them to manage their financial resources effectively.  The Vincita Institute is dedicated to empowering consumers by providing quality financial education focusing on counseling, and personal financial accountability regardless of a person's age, gender, race, religion, sexual orientation, or financial background.

• To engage the public at large on the principles of stewardship and financial responsibility. This includes but is no limited to public and private, civic organizations, institutions of higher learning, religious organizations, and workplace facilities.
• To educate on behalf of all consumers with a focus on disenfranchised individuals and marginalized, “at risk” groups. This education allows them to make better informed financial decisions.
• To empower individuals by providing them with the essential skills and edifying presentations and workshops that challenge and revise their perspective on money and money management.
